Jeff Clark is more than the pioneer of Mavericks; he is also a world class surfboard shaper. He has been shaping for over 25 years. His company Jeff Clark Surfboards has a full line of high performance boards. His new line of boards features the FlyingFish, Mavericks™ Guns and everything in between. What sets Jeff Clark Surfboards apart from the crowd is that Jeff rides everything he shapes. He has the experience of 25 years of fine tuning his boards. He understands how to make a board design to each surfer’s style.

Shaping Philosophy

"When designing a board I create the board to fit the surfer and the wave… going for the ultimate surfing experience. I ride everything I shape whether it be a flying fish in two foot waves or a tow board on a 50ft wave… I am constantly creating new board shapes…pushing myself to better my designs no matter how unconventional the idea or method… I am open to all adaptations of design for use in surfing, incorporating technology from other water sports to advance my surfboard design... there are no boundaries. Short Board Models

When it comes to performance surfing, you have to have the right match. My three main bottoms are single concave, single to double concave and flat to double concave. With each bottom design I use a rocker that will optimize the performance characteristic’s of the board and the conditions it is shaped for.

Flying Fish

The Flying Fish has a single to double concave bottom and comes stock with Turbo-Keel fins. It turns small surf into performance surf. It becomes the board you rely on all summer long. Also great for the intermediate surfer who is ready for something stable that turns really quick and is very forgiving.

Fun Guns

Designed for those who want a fuller shape that is easy to paddle and maintains performance in demanding surf conditions. Fun guns are great for the long board surfer that is heading for the reefs of the south pacific. Long boards

When I started riding long boards I needed performance. The demanding beach breaks of Northern California require something a little different. Four Fin designs as well as the newer Twin design have pushed the modern long board to its limits. For those who need the staple of the Single Fin with side bites, I shape and ride them all, if you don’t ride them how do you know for sure.

Eggs

Looking for a transition from surf school trainers. Eggs are ideal for the intermediate and beginner. These boards provide plenty of stability and are more maneuverable than the traditional long board. This is the next step on your way to performance surfing!

Mavericks Signature
I think I have spent more time experimenting with boards for Mavericks than any other wave in the world. It will always be my favorite place to surf. Not only do you have to glide in, you also have to be able to lay down clean turns to get you through the sections. Rocker and outline are as important as the fins you choose. Available in Single Fin; Single Fin with small side fins; Tri-Fin; and what I have been riding for 10 years (Formula Four-Four Fins) provide performance out of a big wave gun like you have never experienced.

Ocean Beach Mini Gun
Designed for shallow reef and sand bottom waves. Lot’s of curve to let the board fit in those tight places as you rip your turn out of the lip, and really solid when driving a turn off the bottom to pull in the barrel. Available in Tri-Fin, Twnzr and Formula Four-Four Fin

Tow Boards

We are talking life on the line here. I wouldn’t make you one if I wasn’t willing to ride it myself. Lokbox adjustable fin system with custom G-10 or Fiberglass fins from Rainbow Fin Co. are essential to achieving the highest level of performance. Tri-Fins for the really big days and Formula Four-Four Fins for 8’to 15’(hawaiian) days.
